Dead SEEG
« on: September 19, 2005, 09:30:54 PM »

Went for about a 100 mile ride yesterday.  Stopped maybe a half dozen times along the way for refreshments [smiley=drink.gif], gas, and to run some errands for the Mrs.  All was fine, except for a few hard starts when hot.  Got home around 3:45 and parked the bike out on the driveway.

About 9:00 I went out and cleaned the bugs off, and then went to start it to run it in the garage and everything was normal until I hit the start button.  Then, the lights went out and nothing happend.  Cycled the ignition on and off, tried it again, same thing.  On the third try, the lights didn't even come on.  The accessory position on the ignition switch still works.  This will probably end up being a Saturday morning run to the dealer in the trailer, 'cause I won't have time to troubleshoot this week and it is still under warranty, but anyone want to guess what the problem might be?

If it was that breaker thing in the 04s you'd not have lights at all.

Make sure the battery cables are tight . . .

Don, you win free tacos!  Positive cable was tight, but negative one was ever so loose (really not much at all).  Tightened it up and whammo, the beast sprung to life!  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I was convinced it was going to be something more major.  Now I can go riding Saturday morning instead! [smiley=bigok.gif]

Thanks for the tips everyone.  Now go check your own cables! [smiley=nervous.gif]

By the way, I love this place! [smiley=laugh.gif]
