With close to 4K miles on the 09 SEUC I decided to take the 03 Classic for a ride.

The silver and black paint is still excellent but the inner fairing was looking a little weathered.

With 48K miles on the ticker I realized the 03 was needing some love.

Riding the 01 SERG, the 09 SEUC and the 05 SEEG with the painted inner fairing made the decision easy on what needed to be done on the Classic.

Whether it's the new one or the older ones, showing your bikes some love is very important.

Here's a happy 03 Classic.

Since it hides so much more effectively when not in use and you've got that unique one-off hitch now have you thought about putting a Bushtec receiver on this one replacing the N-Line piece?

That's a thought, and a good one but we are currently in a economic recession and to take off an ugly chrome hitch that works and install a black hidden hitch ($500.00) doesn't make good monetary sense right now. If it get to where the look bothers me to much I will just take it off. Besides the trailer doesn't match the 03 very well anyway.

Completely understand.  If the trailer will always be behind the 09 removal is certainly an option.  Unless you just someday come to really hate seeing the hitch there though I'd keep it on.  Sure as hell the weekend after you remove it you'll want to go someplace with the trailer and the 09 won't be running for some small silly reason.  This way you've got redundancy if you need it .

The Bushtec folks were great with me after getting the SERG last year on just that score.  Figured if it was not too expensive might as well make them redundantly capable for the trailer.  Rather than having to buy an entire hitch kit got just the receiver brackets and rear harness for (I think it was) $285.

Traded my 03 anniversary Ultra for the 09....great bike, wish i coulda kept it but the boss felt otherwise.

i sold my 03 blk classic to my best friend,,   so still get to see and be with her any time i want. great bike and always was so good to me too.    even has a painted inner too!   while i owned her, i was theeee chromoholic of all time.   still looks that good.

MikeR sent me some lowers and I had them painted to go on the 03.

I think they turned out good.
