Tennessee gives us six which is OK, I guess. I've come up with a whole list of possibilties. The seventh character would make things much easier, though...

$400/year for registration?  Holy crap.  It's $18 in PA.  That's unreal.

it's $69 to register in Texas..additional $40 for a personal plate, another $69 for the trailer. I wonder what the folks in Austin ''State Capitol'' are doing while arriving at that number!!!  Interesting..

The real shame is that the german plates for cars are smaller.  You can get them in two styles...long horizontal or almost square like the american plates only a little bigger.  I could never figure out why they had the GIGANTIC plates for bikes
