« on: September 30, 2005, 05:08:16 PM »

Just returned home from a trip to Reno as I went to have My 2006 FLHTCUSE dialed in at Freedom Cycles. WOW what a difference it is. My stock bike came with 84.2 HP & 88 on Torque and Brad at Freedom Exhaust was able to get 102.2 HP & 102.4 on Torque and the bike sounds & runs

Jeff;
I'm glad your happy with the work Freedom did. They are great people. To attach a picture its really easy. When you post a message there is an attach box below where you type in the new message. Click the browse button and point to the image stored on you hard drive that you want to attach. There is also instructions here:
http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=CVO_FAQS;action=display;num=1118675329

You will need to scan the sheet that Brad gave you first. If you dont have a scanner you can mail me a copy and i'll scan it for you. Send me a PM if interested. [smiley=cherry.gif]

Enjoy the ride [smiley=biggthumpup.gif]

Freedom has the set up all dialed in all you have to do is call them they will send you the exhaust a pre programed power commander and the air cleaner.  If you can change the exhaust you can do it your self if not a mechanic should be able to install all the stuff for a small fee.

Jeffj, My 06 SE Ultra Classic is supposed to be here in December.  Your "before" and "after" numbers are impressive.  Impressive enough to get me to thinking about having the same thing done to my bike.  How much does it cost to get this done:  freedom pipes, PC III, and air cleaner?  From what the other guys are saying, I could order this, bolt it on, and go.  Does it affect your warranty?  This is a touring bike, and my wife doesn't want me to put really loud pipes on this bike.  My Vance & Hines are a bit too loud to suit her on my Deluxe.  On a scale of 1 to 10, how loud are these pipes compared to stock or Vance & Hines?  Got any pictures of them?  Thanks.

Thanks, Jeffj.  I appreciate the info.  I showed my wife the results of your Dyno test.  She was impressed, too, and gave me the greenlight to order it for our new bike.  Gotta love a woman who'll let her man cough up $1,495. for his bike!  I'll be looking for the pics.  Thanks, again.

Welcome Ramblin Man,

Sounds like you got a keeper in your wife

When you order your Freedom Exhaust Package, make sure you request the same setup that Freedom Cycles did for my SE. All you will need to do is bolt on the exhaust and hookup the PC and HF and get on bike and hold on.

JeffJ, Great pics.  Thanks for sharing.  I'm droolin'.  I can't wait for December when my bike is supposed to be here.  I read on another thread that the CVO factory in York, Pa. is running about 3 weeks behind schedule.  I hope that ain't so!  That could ruin my Xmas.

SE,

No it doesn't come that way.  You would think that on a MC this expensive, they would add a $260 inner primary, but I guess they gotta stop somewhere.

I took a couple of days and rode my bike to the coast.
Had a awesome time as my Local HD dealer held a customer apprecition day at the coast,
I would guess we had 150 bikes, with 4 being Screaming Eagles

Twolanerider......braided fuel line...I purchased, I think it finshes it out better. I also did the fuel line that runs below tank up front.

FR8TRN & Twolanerider.......Freedom Cycles shipped all of my stock parts and included the Power Commander and such....just haven't opened the box to see all the goodies.
I have a associate that works with me and he is well versed with the Power Commander and I think he will be in my hometown in the next couple of weeks...I will get a copy of the program.....that was a great idea.

SE_ULTRA........nope the inner primary was installed after the purchase

Seems you've added quite a bit to your bike, looks great.  And I thought the SE came with everything.  [smiley=biggthumpup.gif]

Twolanerider......braided fuel line...I purchased, I think it finshes it out better.

That's the fuel line that Harley tells us is only for the Dyna.  Jeff, if you want to and like the look of it you can dress that line up a bit more.  The chrome fuel fitting cover fits over it perfectly.

Has anyone figured out WHY the MoCo will not list this braided fuel line for our FL's?     [smiley=nixweiss.gif]spyder

Spyder - no we tried figuring out why the braided line wasn't listed.  Several of us examined the stock part against the braided and we concluded the two parts looked identical in terms of dimensions/fittings. I took the plunge and tried it on my SEEG...worked just fine and has been for miles now. Several others have also installed w/o any problems (none mentioned on the site at least). Can't figure why they would only list this part for Dynas.  BTW, the HD p/n is 63020-04 and according to the catalog "fits '04-05 fuel injected Dyna models."  Not sure if it will work for the '06 bikes since they have a new throttle body, but if the stock EFI line on the '06 is the same p/n as the '04/05s, then it'll probably work - PJ

twolanerider....the last picture I posted is the other braider fuel line for the front bottom portion (crossover) of the tank. HD Part # 63698-02

On my 03 RK you could see more of the crossover fuel line but with the 06 CUSE you can see only some of the fuel line. It was only $34.95 less discount and I figure anything under $100 bucks at a Harley store is a value.....LOL

Not sure of the rest of the steps, but Step 1 is:

"My name is Brian and I'm a chrome-a-holic."

But that takes us to real problems with 2 and 3 Brian.  If 1 is that I am a Chrome-a-holic and 2 and 3 are "and Harley is greater than I am and Harley will help me" then we seem to have something of a contradiction going on  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Right...like any of us can ride BY a HD store. Maybe TO a HD store, or with a STOP at a HD store, but never BY a HD store.

All Right - I did it - I really did it

I took my bike to HD Dealer this morning to have my compass programed/set and I didn't look or buy anything shinney, I just dropped the bike off at service desk and I even walked all through the store to walk out the front door.

Big test this weekend as I will be with my brother in law, as he just bought his 1st Harley a couple years ago and I am sure he will want to stop at a couple of HD Dealers as we drive through Kansas.

I can do it, I know I can

Well on the 06's (like I see you have) the new Navigation plug in does display a compass heading. I don;t know much about it, but there is some discussion on this board about it. Also no mounts to break or attachments to your handlebars.

I pushed the Nav button on new radio and it said "Nav Not Installed see dealer"

My HD Dealer install the HD Road Tech Electronic Compass - HD Part #74502-05
Replaced the Air Temp Gauge with the Spun Aluminium Faced Compass- Looks Good
Just rode my CUSE home and the compass seemed to work well.

I have been doing some research on the nav systems for the 06SECU.  Sure you can spend the $1100 on the modual that plugs into the back of the current radio and it uses the small screen on the radio.  I did not like that option as I did not want to look down at the radio to get my directions.  Besides that the didplay is not a color display.  I am going with the HD portable nav system.  The dash leather does need to be modified for the nav system and I am having that done at a custom uppolstry shop in town.  I just prefer the nav system up near the windscreen.  The dealer and myself had to conduct all the research as there is not much out there on the new nav system.  Enjoy the scoot.
