We've been spending the past few days "adjusting" to the void, with which we were left last Friday. We got Annie Bea's ashes on Tuesday. Audrey gave them to us in a REALLY nice oaken "Strawberry Blonde" urn. We placed the urn in our corner curio with Sassy's urn. There are small Boxer statues and sympathy cards around Annie Bea's urn. Very fitting tribute to such a fine Boxer. The healing has begun, but adjusting to the upset in Boxer equilibrium has been challenging. Annie Bea was the Alpha Boxer......The Grand Matron.......and Springer and Evo knew it. Now she's not here to corral them. Springer has been rather "clingy," but Renea and I have appreciated that. Evo has been pretty needy too, but when she thinks she isn't getting the attention she deserves........she turns into a holy terror. She's gone to all three bathrooms, grabbed the loose ends of toilet paper rolls and ran through the house, slinging toilet paper all over the place........and when she gets busted, she sits there, looks at us with her chin in the air as if to say "Whatcha gonna do about it." She's pooped in the great room........a complete regression, since she is housebroken. She's torn up a pair of my Red Wing house shoes, tattered Renea's riding boots..........just acting out. So we're having to retrain both Boxers. Springer is too submissive to take the lead, and Evo.......well.......crap.......I don't know what we're gonna do just yet, but we will Love them both through this transition.
Again, thanks to all for the condolences and well wishes.
