Daytona Beach Bike Week 2009 | Changes
« on: March 01, 2009, 09:23:21 PM »

Each year like so many of you on the web site I take an annual pilgrimage to a number of locations in our great country.  One of them is Daytona Beach Bike Week however for the first time since going I attended at the beginning of the event.  Normally I am in attendance for the later part including the last weekend.  This was a last minute decision given I was not going to be able to attend the latter part.

This was change number one and there would be so many others as I attended the event.  As a matter of fact too many to document here but they will be forever in my mind.

As a result of change number one the crowds are must less…

Can’t imagine the vendors are too excited about selling to less people…

One matter is certain, you receive more attention if they are not busy setting you their space.

Roger Bourget had the largest spread of bikes but did nothing with the pricing…

I noticed a lot of different gas tank structures by all of the custom markets.

Wow, Jock! Even for the first weekend, the crowd looks pretty sparse. We usually go to one major rally each year. We always go for the first weekend and leave before the last weekend gets wound up -- to avoid the really, really big crowds. Still, we've never seen a rally that wasn't pretty busy even on the first weekend.

I wonder if this is typical in Daytona or if attendance is really down this year. Did you ask any of the vendors whether they felt the crowds felt smaller already?

On a positive note one of the benefits of traveling down this weekend for a change was to hook up with my friend and fellow site member…amigo Jorge….

Jorge is a good man I am blessed to call him a friend…Not to mention mentor!  He has “The Stuff!”

More later!

How bout this change if you have never seen it…

That’s right a lower sticker price at Daytona Beach H-D!  It should be noted that this is not a H-D product not that this makes a difference.
