How does your CVO cover fit the bike?
« on: March 04, 2009, 08:57:10 PM »

I was hoping to NOT have to take mine out of the packaging to try it... but it seems that the FLTR and FLTRSE due to its unique fairing is a difficult cover fitment.

I dont want to haul around that bulky CVO cover but dont want to order another one without knowing what will fit.

Any ideas, comments suggestions or snide remarks?  :soapbox:

I know you guys are talking about 09 SERG's, but I noticed that the cover for my 09 CUSE4 does not fit anywhere near as well as the cover fit on my 05 SEEG. The 09 CUSE4 cover leaves the front lower portion of the wheel chrome exposed. Cover needs to be about 6 inches longer to cover it. The maker of the cover, Dowco is a Wisconsin company and you'd think someone would have paid closer attention to the fitment of the cover. Is this something to make an issue of with the dealer?

ok, I'm gonna stray just a little cause this is good info...for those of you wanting to save space on trips but must have an overnight cover for rain or evening dew, my buddy and I bought a full cover from AutoZone that rolled up tight enough to fit into one of my boots...it was about a third of the size that I can get my 'real' cover to get...anyway, great product - covered everything - $29.99

I had to use mine for the last 4 weeks because ther was a lot of dust everywhere because of making a new bathroom and i wanted to protect the bike , it worked and fitted very good , the whole bike was covered besides 2" of the frontwheel near the ground .  :2vrolijk_21:
My first thought was that i never will need this cover but now i was luckky to have had it .

Maybe I should add that I have a covercraft cover for the SG but its nowhere near close to fitting the SERG.

Even with the 15.5 Clearview shield, it works great.

As an update:

For the Streetglide I'm using covercraft PN "151" fits the SG PERFECT.... BTW, this same cover works great for my Fatboy with the RK hard bags and a tall windshield as well.

After a conversation with covercraft, they suggested I use #157 instead for the SERG.

This is designed for a full-dress tourer (including tour pack) and since I plan on adding a chopped pack anyway, I figured why not...

Locally we have a discount dealer for covercraft... so I called him (I buy all my bike covers from him) and asked if he had one.

He had one in stock so I drove out to meet him (25 minutes and 24 miles away... hey look... another 48 miles!)

Tried it on and it fit like a glove... all the way to the ground front and back... I may add a bit more elastic to the seam so it stay tight in the wind.... but very happy.

Weathershield fabric...  light and compact.
