I didn't want to keep feeding the breather vents back into the carb/air cleaner .... so I bought an after market A/C kit that fits onto the Mikuni.
The breathers each have a 'LITTLE' filter to catch the oil that is expelled out the breather .....

I have no way of knowing if my bike has the 'normal/average' amount of spue that is vented out the breather....... But I do know this ... those 'LITTLE' filters are only good for about 50 miles.  After that the oil leaks out the bottom, and then of course is blown back all over the side of the bike, and your leg.  Last Wed. I rode 250 or so miles, the bike was a MESS .... I can't ride like this ..... and certainly would not take one of my extended trips until this gets resolved.

So I have decided to vent the breathers into a line and run that to a catch can .....

anyone ever use this setup ?

where'd you get the
1) braided line, and what size is it
2) the catch can
3) the filter on top of the can

I assume this is mounted onto your throttle body, and you're running EFI
I will need to keep the bracket that mounts onto the front of the carb

do you have links to the sources for the components that you used ?

Thanks for posting and helping out !!

Hey Naitram, how much trouble is the little catch can to drain?  They say there's a 'drain' on the bottom.   spyder

i can reach behind the exhaust and remove it easily, funny thing is with the up and over between the 2 heads i no get hardly any oil. i'm guessing i was getting mostly from the front head

I have that installed now.

before the build the vents were routed into the A/C .... stock setup

now they go to the little filters and not back into the carb

so I don't know if I have more being expelled from the breathers now, after the build, or if it's the same amount.

I do know that the little filters on the breather bolts become saturated with oil and spue within a very short period of time ..... like 50 miles

it seems that my front cyl is worse than the back one, but they both contributive to my problem

here's another catch can that I was pointed to by a friend on another forum.....

I like this one, as it has a petcock to open for draining ..... seems to be the easy way to go

Yeah, the petcock is nice, but they're gonna have to offer a 'chrome' version.  :coolblue: har!  spyder
