Fairing on SERK3
« on: June 29, 2009, 08:44:39 AM »

I have a 2007 SERK.  I am in the process of installing a Dragonfly Fairing.  The first of August I am heading on a trip to Sturgis.  Will be about 4000 miles round trip.  I have had a dealer mechanic recommend replacing the front fork inners with those on a SE Ultra as he told me the extra down force from the fairing at high speeds can affect the handling on the RK.  Have any of you out there with fairings experienced this?

Thanks,

Dale

I don't think the forks on an Ultra are any different than a SERK (other than being lowered an inch on the CVO)?  I also doubt the fairing produces much, if any, downforce.  I notice a little more instability when I have the detachable windshield on mine from the air spilling around the sides, but can still ride without holding on the bars so it's not bad.  Never heard of that one.

Thanks for the responses.  I am going to leave the shocks alone.
