Trip to the north west of Ireland
« on: April 06, 2009, 11:05:40 AM »

Couple of aims for weekend just gone, FBS benefit rock night, visit to the 5000 year old Ceide fields (http://www.museumsofmayo.com/ceide1.htm)and photo rally 20 point out in Achill island
It was with pleasure I took my CVO Springer for its first long haul trip

Ready for first service, over 1150 miles up already, have to get earplugs :-) Bike behaved beautifully, 38-40mpg at between 60-75mph, newly polished carrier did the job, had to plug the back tire as had a hex bolt cause a slow puncture

Photo rally point in Achill island, the Dam overlooking Dooagh

550 miles in total

Beautiful photos! Had the honor of visiting your island in 2007. Beautiful country! What is the pyramid shaped building?

Thanks for sharing the photos! Post one of the luggage rack, saw your original post but would love to see how it turned out.

That building is the visitor center, it was closed yesterday so I scaled a few walls to do a bit of investigating on my own:-)
The bikes belonged to people attending the function which was a fund raiser for the wife of a biker who died of a heart attack last fall, 800 tickets were sold
Ill find one of the luggage rack & post it on the other post tomorrow, it turned out better than expected
