Wife wrecked her bike Sunday morning
« on: April 27, 2009, 01:47:17 PM »

My wife wrecked her 2007 1200 Nighster yesterday morning when we were coming back from breakfast ...a lady on a cell phone drifted into our lane and my wife dodged her and went off into a ditch ...she was thrown from the bike ...she was wearing a helmet and a riding jacket which kept her from being hurt very bad ..she did bruise her ribs ..hyper extended her fingers ...and skent her up some ..she spent the night in the hospitial for observation ..here are a few pics of her bike.

Glad she is ok.  I wish people would pay more attention while driving! Did the car stop? was the driver cited for something?

Wish your wife the best and a speedy recovery. My wife and I got wiped out two years ago by a cell phone driver. Fortunately in our case the investigating officer was a motorcycle cop and she said "I should have written her up for attempted murder".  Ride safe, Doc

Glad to hear she wasn't too seriously injured.......apparently that cell phone call was more important to the cage driver than the safety of those around her. :soapbox:  Hope she has a speedy recovery.

Good to hear she's on the mend. Thank god she was wearing leather. I always shake my head when I see people on bikes running with shorts, sandles and tank tops etc.

We had 5 motorcycle accidents in the Milwaukee area over the past 3 days.
People turning left in front of bikers, bikers losing control, etc.
Yesterday on the way home from work, I saw a rocket rider with NO HANDS coming up on traffic
and at the last minute hit the rear brake, and almost went down. Another fellow HD rider wearing
shorts with no helmet, flip flops, sleeveless shirt, and looking at someone walking down the street, and almost ran into the car in front of him. Missed the curb by inches! It's just crazy how people don't pay attention, or don't give a S _ _t!  I just wish the local laws would change, and make those on
cell phones, running lights, cutting off bikes, would just automatically go to jail!
I'm glad you wife is OK, and she can get back on two wheels soon.

Really sorry to hear about this but glad your wife's only bruised & not broken.

These people on their cellphones.  Why can't it wait?  Worst of all I see people texting while driving.  Saw two coming back from lunch today.  Texting on the highway while driving 60mph.  They're going to kill me or someone like me.  Makes me want to kick their windows in at the next red light.  Unbelievable.

HOW IS IT HANDS FREE CELL USE IS NOT A NATIONAL / FEDERAL REQUIREMENT?  HOW MANY MUST BE KILLED BEFORE WE DO AWAY WITH THIS INSANITY?  CAN WE GET AMA INVOLVED?  THE MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM?
