   Doing the Rt66 thing this year and was looking for routing help in the Chicago area. We will be coming north on 41 and plan on taking 30 west to north on 45. Then we will take 83 (Cal Sag)west and north to Willowbrook. What do the natives think of this routing??

That actually is quite a good route.  Good roads - reasonable traffic - as reasonable as Chicago traffic can be.  Fair amount of stoplights and such once you hit 83 - but if you are heading to Willowbrook - there is no avoiding it...
