Cobra Exhaust

I was looking for some Rinehearts for my bike (FXR4)
and came across these.

Anyone know anything about the company or the pipes ?

http://www.jcmotors.com/s-7-american-street.aspx?ExactFitOnly=1&ResetFilters=1

all of the pipes shown on that page, according to them, will fit on the FXR4, even though they are shown on a Dyna.

I really like the looks of this set

I just received the slashdown set for a Fat Bob.  I have not installed them yet but I have them in my hands if you have questions.  Model 6857.  I'm hoping to install them in the next couple of weeks.  I want to get prepared for the map change.
Nice looking pipes.  Seem well made.  Sound?   Not yet.

Rickter .!!!!!!!!

I've only spent a couple of minutes looking at your write up on the exhaust THANK YOU for putting that together !!

LOTS of really good information in there . .......

Tell me, what pipes did you have before ?

what is the sound of these pipes ?  deep, throaty ?  or raspy ? and sorta harsh ?

after having my vance and hines for 8 years I'm sorta tired of the loud raspy kinda of sound and am looking for somthing a bit deeper in tone

I REALLY REALLY like the looks of those pipes

MAN, YOUR bike is AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kudos.  If I had to choose one from your multiple choice, I would say deep.  They do sound very close to the clip on the Cobra website.

I don't think my recording would be better but I'm going to try recording it when I get a little spare time. They are not obnoxious but pretty loud.  Punchy and not cheap sounding.  Not poppy.  Not hollow. Not harsh at all.  Not raspy in my opinion.

I could not find them anywhere to listen before I jumped in.  I'm glad but feel like I got lucky.  I's not good to get stuck with pipes you don't like.  Describing the sound is hard.

My household is very busy so please forgive the distance between my replies...  I'll try to help if possible.  I'm looking for a decent way to record them without big $$.

Oh, almost forgot.  Stock pipes before this.  Way too quiet.

Thanks alot for your reply !!

If you have a digital camera, that will shoot a mpg (usually they are 30 seconds).
Then you could

1) upload the mpg to a site like photobucket (free), and link to it from here
2) email it to me, and I'll put it up
