Change of Lubes on My Bike
« on: May 19, 2009, 09:04:20 AM »

Over the last 2 weeks I changed the oil, transmission and primary lube from the factory filled Screaming Eagle synthetic to Mobil 1 synthetic for V twins.  The difference is noticeable.  The engine temperature is definitely lower as the temperature management system engages less frequently.  I believe the transmission also shifts smoother.  A nice modification for less than $50.

Stevemo, I have had a similar experience on my CUSE4.  I changed out the HD Syn 4 with AMSOIL and not only is shifting better, but it seems to run cooler.

I changed from SYN 3 at 850 miles to AMSOIL 20W-50W. Changed again at 4500. Will try Mobil 1 next time. Oil is black after 3K no matter what.
