Didn't, got it as a special for buying the bike during an open house they were having, technically they probably screwed me for it somewhere, but for the CVO I was in a shopping around mood so I just wrote a check and took the bike (after the 6sp and bluetooth were installed).

My estimated costs:

service manual                  $50
4 quarts Redline 20/50          28
1 qt MTL                             8
1 qt of Heavy Shockproof       8
Oil filter                             10
Couple hrs of my time            0

Knowing it was done right
by me and not some greasy
kid just learning,                priceless

Now if I can negotiate a resonable price from the dealer, I might let them do it, but I won't pay $400 or more for something so simple, plus it's about a two hour round trip thru some bad (Dallas) traffic, so it's just much eaiser for me do it, plus I enjoy it.

Hey 06BK- mine hasn't been done yet, I'm only at 501 miles- but it's gonna be free- I negotiated the no cost service along with a few other goodies when I bought the bike.
Later-

Right on!  I've been burned by two different dealerships on my last two bikes on the 1k service.  Both "intimated" that I would have warranty problems if I didn't have them do the first service, and the service was included in the deal on the SEEG.  Both times I had to redo the service myself, because the dealership had done some things wrong and failed to do other things entirely.  I also prefer to do it myself, to make sure it's done right and because I enjoy turning wrenches.

BTW - no matter what any dealer may tell you, as long as you keep receipts and records, they cannot refuse warranty service because you do your own maintenance.

You know what HD stands for?

It use to stand for $100.00  Hundred Dollars
Now just like the upcoming 2006 Postage Stamp of .39cents (geez I am old I remember .13cents)

With Inflation HD now stands for Several Hundred Dollars

Start putting some extra Bucks back as that 10,000 miles service is a few car payments

LOL, I was a good boy

I bought my gf's daughter a really kewl Harley Top
(her b-day is on Thanksgiving Day and I am eating at gf's house on Turkey Day)
Also one of those flash lights you shake to make light up, figured I would put it in saddlebag.

All in all got out of there for less than $70 bucks

Saving as HD dealer is having a balloon pop next weekend
I heard there will be one 50% Off balloon in the bunch
