Zippers Package Question2
« on: November 21, 2005, 10:19:17 AM »

Please try to limit your comments to the questions below.   Thanks in advance.

How many would like to see a Nitrous kit for our bikes?

Any special requests or comments would be greatly appreciated.

My ideas were

Simple hide a bottle in a bag
Simple hide a bottle per bag

Bikes without bags a mount on the front frame on the upright

There are already N2O kits for Harleys.  MPS and Edelbrock are ones I've seen; but I'd expect there are others.  Have installed a little 2 pound MPS kit on a buddies carbed bike.  Still never been satisfied on how anyone might manage or spoof the ECM for an EFI bike though.  In any case, on a bagger, out cruising he highways, not my riding style.  At least not anymore.

Don,

This was more about ideas or what people would like to see even if its only a pipe dream for those that "used" to twist the throttle.   A lot of times its the old folks that have been there done that that say would be nice if we could have done it this way, or this was the issue we ran into doing it this way much like spoofing of the ECM.  Some of the best idea's come from the question if you could what would you do.   That is really the idea, to get an idea of who would .. or even something else that isnt mentioned.

Ok Harry, I dig.  You're just doing a bit of brainstorming.  In that vein, in a system that can't read both engine inputs and outputs and compare the two accurately managing induction systems for nitrous is a tough chore.  Depending on the size of the charge it's an easy way to break things too.  Don't get me wrong, N2O is a fun toy.  It just needs some proper application around it and/or enough strength underneath it that the management matters less.  Carb'd bikes and nitrous are a fun project actually.  So are street rods.  EFI bikes with a Harley-type EFI system, however, are a tough nut for nitrous and systems management.

I can't think of what I'd remove from my bags to replace w/ the Nitrous bottles.  Naaaw, my bike runs fast enough for me for now  :-?      and I don't wanna give up anything on the 'dependability' end of the spectrum. [smiley=nervous.gif]  har!  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] spyder

Three things a former "teacher" used to say -

1 - You can never have enough
2 - Never show everything, only enough to win
3 - If you think you have too much - park it or put it on the trailer and quit wastin my time.

I would consider it...

Personally, I never cared for HP in a bottle that you have to refill all the time. I would rather boost my engine with a blower or turbo that is always ready every time you twist your wrist ... without arming a switch and wondering if you have enough gas left in the bottle.

This actually is a serious question. There is a system in the works for the HD fuel injection system. I don't know how it will work or how it will look. I can tell you the people that are working on it will have it right before it hits the streeet. So I will say if we are going to buy such a system I vote for a bottle in the saddle bag that can be disconnected when I need to make some room for any trips.
