Stock Seat
« on: July 07, 2009, 01:52:10 PM »

I currently have the 2007 CVO Road King.  My wife wants to start moving around and re-positioning herself after not a very long period of time and seems to have a hard time staying comfortable.  I am thinking I need to get a different seat for the bike.  Just curious how many of you have changed out the stock seat....and if so.....I have a couple of questions:

   1) What seat did you go with?, and
   2) Are you happy with your choice?

Thanks in advance,
Keith

The Lepera Maverick if touring, Lepera Sorrento if cruising, due to the stock seat being a piece of crap. Of course, this is my opinion.

used to have the Sundowner. "Pillion" ( ::)) loved it, longest trip 800 miles, no complaints from the backseater  ;)

My favorite two up seat is my C&C Sport Tour. I can go gas stop to gas stop no problem. Lady likes it too.
700 - 800 miles good to go.

Other than the looks, I have a HD Sundowner for my '08 SERK Annie and only use it on longer trips.

For me personally, the front part of the original seat fits me very well and I don't find it uncomfortable, butt the wife has a problem with the stock seat.

The Sundowner is a bit of a tight fit for me and large arse.  The Sundowner overall is a good alternative to someone else's seat that you may not be able to sit on before you buy it.

Good luck.

I've switched to  C&C because I never ride 2 up, but prior to this I had the Mustang 75464 and it is an outstanding seat. Your wife will love it, plus you can ride all day without a sore rear.

I also went with the Sundowner.  The front part may be slightly more comfortable than the stock one, but I mainly got it for the wider and thicker rear seat portion; that, I'm told, is much better than stock.

I am thinking about going for the Sundowner or the Corbin that is designed for the 2007 CVO Road King like daleg3556 has.  Decisions....decisions....although I know the Corbin will be a lot more cash.   :-\

Thanks for all the feedback.

just ordered a corbin, as there is no Sundowner availiable for the FLHTCUSE4. It's about twice the price of any H-D-seat or Mustang.

I just ran across a C&C Sport Tour 2 Up seat.....looks really nice.  Does anyone have any experience with these as it relates to fit and finish and the wife's comfort?

Thanks,
Keith

That's the seat I posted in reply 5 with picture. My girlfriend says it is very comfy. She rode on it to Eureka Springs. Her 1st bike trip. No problems. I have gotten a standard detachable backrest and pad (thanks GH) since this pic was taken as I did not like the way the original upright matched up to the seat. The rear pad is thicker than the stock seat, hence more comfy too. If you want I could get a picture of the set up later.

Here's a pic of just the seat.

JW,

Sorry about that.  I have been doing so many searches that I completely forgot about your previous post..... :-[

Thanks for your comments....looks like a nice seat....I also like the prices too.  You don't have to take any additional pictures on my account.  :)
