3 1/2 in your motor (Redline 20/60 motorcycle or Mobil 1 V Twin).  1 in your primary (Redline MTL).  1 in your transmission (Redline Shockproof Heavy)

These guys have great Redline products prices...

Order yesterday, here today. Good price, great service! Thanks Scott.

HDFATBOY

The guy at zippers told me that all I need was a qt.  I looked in my Owners Manual about the trans and it holds 24oz, the engine is 3.5 qts, and he said that it was 1 qt in the primary?  What exactly does the "bible" say regarding the primary?  I am at work and currious...if I need to add more fluid in the primary can I just add a little of the 20 50 oil with the MTL?   ???

Thanks...

My bad . . failed to mention 2007 FLHTCUSE 110"

I believe it's 38 oz in the 110

Yup, 38 it is in a touring primary.

However, I've never mixed fluids. So, I can't say . . . but I personally wouldn't mix MTL with motor oil.

Another note: I run the K&N filter with the nut on the end also. I have failed miserably with the zip lock bag, the 2 liter plastic bottle, etc. so, I fashioned a "trough" from a piece of light aluminum sheet to direct oil outward past the floorboard. I put it under the filter, crack the filter loose and punch two holes in the end of the filter (one at the bottom to drain it and the other at the top to let it breathe). When its done dripping i unscrew it with very little mess.
And, also, this all takes place on a Handy lift . . .

Sorry, if my earlier comment of "greater than a qt in the primary" caused alarm.

No need to appoligize.  It just reinforces what everyone has said..."check the owners Manual"

Thanks guys...not sure when the Redline will get in the MTL was out of stock but they should have gotten it in today.  Looking forward to smooth shifting!   ;D

Check with your local race car speed shop.  They probably carry Redline on the shelf.  I've used it in my dirt track modified for a long time.  Good stuff.  I use the blue shockproof in my quickchange rearend.  Very sticky protection even when it's hot and thinned out.

Well I have 2 slightly stripped t27 in th derby cover.  I promise I did not strip them either. I have yet to apply a lot of force since I was just making sure I was not going to have any problems. Well glad i did. So went to the Harley Dealer and got the t27s for it. Haven't tried removing the other ones.

Now my real problem. Has anyone taking off the Trans cover?  WTF!  Do I need to take the exhaust off or what.  At this point I have gotten the 3 screws that hold it down off but how the hell do I get it off?  I like the look of it but man if I get it off I am not sure I want to put it back on.

Got a strap wrench and it seems to work fine for the filter.  Little bit discouraged kind of wish I would of let someone else work on her.  But I have bought all of the oil filter drain pan filter wrench and even a new t40 and t27 just to make sure I had a good one. Errrrr.  Not sure I like working on this bike, And I sure do not enjoy it half as much as riding it!  Just really need to get that damn cover off the trans.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dawg.

I have to in order to get the trans fill out???  I even asked at the Harley shop they also said I have to.  You can't get the trans fill bolt out with out removing it. If someone has another way I am all ears.

Thanks

I'm not an expert on any of this, but are you talking about the chrome cover that covers the gap between the engine and trans?  I was under the impression that didn't have to come off to pull the dipstick, but like I said I'm not all that familiar with Softtails.  You are trying to remove the dipstick, correct?  That's where you fill the transmission.

Never worked on a Softail that didn't have the tranny drain plug up between the shocks.  It'll refill through the hole in side cover in Jerry's picture.

Here's a pic just liberated from Delkron's website.  Softail tranny case.  Ugly sort-of-circle added around the drain plug hole.

Jerry

it is not the drain plug that I am having problems with rather the plug in this pic the fill/check plug.  And if someone can tell me exactly how you can get the plug out without removing the cover it would
make my day!  I have
all of the bolts off of the cover and don't think it can be removed
without taking it all the way off. The guy at the Harley shop even got the service writter to come out and he agreed that it needs to come off. Poor design. H
I can't even find a way to check it with out removing and I can't imagine that this is right. Anybody know anyone on here that has worked on one of these.

Thanks fellas took the wife and my little boy to the beach going to go out and eat crabs later so I am trying to take a break and start fresh later.

I do agree that this should not have to be removed but I am not sure how to get this fill plug out.
