Recently there was a Screamin Eagle Belt Buckle posted for sale on EBay. It was the original HD buckle that we would all like to have. Hang on to your hats folks, it sold for $204.01

I got out of the bidding at a little over $100. Sure wish HD would start making these buckles again as it seems they are definitely in demand. I guess I'll keep looking.

Yes I saw it also - I guess someone wanted it REALLY bad. There is another thread that talked about how much stuff was going on ebay for - most stuff can be bought new (20% discount from various dealers) for less than a used item on ebay at least the Harley stuff.

I have found some good deals on ebay though and it has saved me some money with brick and mortar stores when I negoitate price.

If I see the belt buckle somewhere for sale I will pm you.

i think from a previous thread this limited edition buckle was part of an earlier welcome package when you bought a cvo bike, was never on general sale to my knowledge

It was sure not handed out with a cvo bike. it was part of a promotional parts kit. To my knowledge it was never sold in stores by itself.
By the way, the super dave copy is not so bad, of course not the crisp original.

There one on e-bay right now starting at 159.95. the part number on the back is 981477 - I went to the HD web site and tried the that number but nothing came up. I would like to have one but not for that kind of money.

I picked up the copy for Roger....not near as good looking as the original and the little hook that notched into the belt broke off....

Would still love to have the original though...but not for that kind of money.

i can sell you the fake one in an original cardboard box, ps: the fake one is brilliantly colored in by myself from the front its hard to tell the difference, buyers on ebay be aware start price hmmmmm 120sfr lol

WTF! my supa dupa original belt buckle is made of very soft lead, the belt loop just pull straight out of the side of the whole, did this happen to anybody elses, it would appear the fake buckle is of better construction using a harder metal!

That's why no warranty either. If we'd all only drink MoCo SynBeer our waistline accessory warranty would be in tact. But when we go to the aftermarket for beer and food we void the warranty...

That's probably a mold number Joe. OE's own mold number before it ever gets packaged and sold to HD and the whole assembly gets and HD #.

both the original and the fake both have /n 981477 stamped on the back

the way to tell them apart is

the original buckle has a matt/dull finish to the metal on the face side and the rear has alot of small detail, i donno sort of hammered appearance
while the frontal finish of the fake buckle is of a polished darker appearance with must less detail on the rear side
