That look is awesome!!

2 Questions:

1) Is this the part number you ordered? MCL-3006-R
2) Did your mileage start at zero after installation, or is it transferred somehow?

Great job!

That's the correct part number.

The mileage does start at zero but I found a paper in the box that Jim might have missed. It states that you can set the mileage yourself up until you hit 100 miles on the new gauges, then that option disappears. I will try and set my correct mileage tonight and report back here after...

Got the mileage set correctly last night. Now I'm gonna try and find some time to try out the performance tracking features like 0-60, 1/4 mile times and top speed. Ok, maybe not TOP SPEED!...

You were able to set the odometer yourself?  That's unexpected.  What kind of a procedure do they have for that little function?

It was actually pretty easy. Just pushing and holding the odometer button and scrolling through the menus. Took me all of 2 minutes to do!

Looked at the photo you specified JC.  How are the gauges in the daytime with the sun behind you?  When it's shining directly in to them?

Do you still get all the features? Like distance to push? and diagnostic codes? I like that distance to push feature alot.

That is the only feature you lose (that I can tell after a month or so), but you do gain a few.

I liked that feature myself, but I like the Dakota Digital. Yes the cost was something to get over but geez we spend more on other crap. Hell you get to look at your $1200.00 every time you ride..  :2vrolijk_21:  I guess that is justification.. :nixweiss:

Yeah Dick what other then looking so kool? I'm just so if'ie . I just didn't want to loose that on feature. I may still do it.

The fuel gauge runs in %.  So when it drops down from 100% down to 10% (that's 10% of six gallons) it starts blinking.  That's adjustable to where ever you'd like it.  However, I've gone down to 0% and still rode a couple more miles before I got to a gas station.  At that point, I put 5.6 Gallons in (so there must have been 1/2 gallon when it got down to 0%.

I remember when we were riding with 3 1/2 gallon tanks.....then went up to 5 gallons and now six gallons.  No excuse for every running out in my opinion. :nixweiss:

The up side is the features that Dakota Digital gauges have that stock doesn't have......0-60 mph... 1/4 mile....top speed, etc.  The gauges seem to be more accurate than the stock gauges, too.

Looked at the photo you specified JC.  How are the gauges in the daytime with the sun behind you?  When it's shining directly in to them?

The dakota website states in it's FAQ's that the red is very difficult to see in daytime conditions and they actually recommend staying with the blue. That is what prompted my question on the visiblity. I am ordering a set, and can go either direction as my bike is the 2010 SEUC in amber /citrus.

Did you install the correct gauge in the correct spot? Pressure will blink if the engine is not running. Oil temp blinks if temp is too high, fuel blinks if below 10%

Re: My Dakota Digital Gauges

Guys I must be doing something wrong in the programing of My Dakota Digital gauges. The speedo, tach and volt meter work But the oil temp , pressure and fuel will not stop blinking???? any help

When I put mine on, the fuel gauge is the only one that I had a problem with.  Couldn't get it to calibrate, it would just continually blink.  HD Dude helped me figure out that my only problem is I needed to unhook the stock tank gauge (FLHXSE3).  After I did that, everything worked.

They have a code that you enter (33) when you calibrate the fuel gauge, which you have a half a gallon left at zero.  They also give you detailed instructions to calibrate the gauge manually and in doing so becomes dead on accurate.
