So does this affect our TTS tuning file we have in our ECU?? Or does it just udate the ABS Controller?

I took my 09 SERG in for the 2010 ABS reflash yesterday. Before going in, I tested the ABS brakes to get a feel for them and how they perform before the flash and tested them again after the flash. In my opinion, my brakes stopped me quicker, with less pulsation with the new flash. It all could be in my head but I noticed better braking performance and it doesn't kick in as early as before.

In my opinion, two thumbs up on this one - took about 20 minutes or so, once the tech realized what he needed to do.

How about the 2008 ABS on Ultras?  I have noticed my ABS kicks on and off when I am going over washboard bumps.

I hope this Service Bulletin resolves my ABS issues.  Two times I've been entering a clean, dry corner and put on the rear brakes ( I know you're supposed to be on and off the brakes before entering the corner while upright, but..) and the ABS activated and I had NO BRAKES.  Both times I crossed the other lane and ended up on the shoulder.  Luckily, no motorcycles or cars were coming around the blind curves.  The first time I took full responsibility for rider error; I just thought I had screwed up.  The second time I knew it was the freakin' H-D ABS doing something weird.  I can just hear the wheels in H-D engineering saying "Oh, he probably doesn't know what to expect with ABS", or the like.  I have 148K miles on two different motorcycles that have ABS and have used them multiple times to save my sorry ass.

I would suggest you take a copy of the bulletin with you, my service dept had no clue what I was talking about, it appears that my System brakes better on uneven surfaces then it did before the upgrade.

I'm hoping the ABS flash will deliver as advertised. I often experience unintended ABS activations when braking over bumps,
cracks, and other road surface anomalies in otherwise good traction conditions. I'll find out if I can just find time to get it to the dealer.

I took my bike in for new saddle bag lids and a cupped front tire. I had them do the ABS update and now my ABS light is on.

I wasn't having any issues before. I probably should've left it alone.
What's the saying. I f it ain't broke don't fix it.

I have experienced this as well but after I had the reflash done it seems to have eliminated this problem.

2BWILD,
I did the Trail Of Tears in 2006 but I only did the main part that goes from Chattanooga, TN to Florence, AL. There is a pre ride that leaves Cherokee, NC on Friday, Sep 18. You can also do the Oklahoma ride on Sep 20, 21 leaving Florence after the main ride. I am doing it again this year.

Interestingly, if I check my VIN on the MoCo site for required work, it doesn't list this....

Anyone else checked to see whether it says they should get it?

I checked it today and it's for all 09 with abs, won't show up under your VIN#. the book calls for .3 hours, and all they hook up is digital technician so they won't read your ECM, wink wink nudge nudge, say no more if you know what I mean.

2BWILD,

If your ABS light is on, your tech missed  finalizing  the reflash, once the upgrade is installed there is a separate set up screen to complete the install. Im guessing you have code C1158 stored which means the upgrade was stopped prior to completion.

It says right in the fine print that the Upgrade is free during the life of the 2 yr warranty, Im gussing that most people wont know it exists during that time, they aren't advertising it.

Well my dealer upgraded my ABS Software but forgot to finish the process. I noticed today that my ABS light never turned off. Well I found ABS Code C1158 Calibration Programming Required. This indicates they didn't complete the whole deal. I called dealer and service writer said they need bike back to perform the calibration steps. Should take approx. 10 minutes to finish.  :nixweiss:

So don't get stuck. If your light is on steady don't leave the dealership!  :2vrolijk_21:
