Les Paul did as much for the world of modern music as Harley-Davidson did for motorcycling.  He will be missed but the legend of this genius will live on.     RIP

He was a phenomonal talent , as a player and innovator .  I have a few of his recordings, my favorite is an LP " Lester & Chester"   Just Les and Chet Atkins sitting around the studio , joking , and playing incredible music.

My first electric was a '79 Les Paul Custom, I bought it new and we are still together 30 years later.

God rest your soul Les  you were amazing .. now you can Jam with all the other great souls

It is no secret here that I love music, guitar hard! Give me the 3 lead guitar in your face Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd anytime. My grandfather was the inventor of the electric slide, and I still have one of the prototypes in my hot little hands. Should be in a museum, but I just can't part with it. Still plays too. Les Paul was a hero to me, and will be missed. I saw this and had to share it.  Dave

I agree with everyone's thoughts and sympathy regarding Les Paul.  I bought my first real nice new guitar back in 1974, a Black 1974 Les Paul Custom.  Unfortunately I had to sell it to pay for college tuition and books.  Les Paul was a colleague of my father who was also a big band guitar player in the 30's and 40's.  Both Les and my father were featured and sponsored musicians by the Gibson guitar company.  Just a little trivia. RIP Les.
