Love this sled. My 5th Bagger, Smooth and sweet. Has a weird miss at 3000rpm. Anybody got any ideas? Means that in wyoming you need to be going 80 to run in 5th......

Not sure...... Bought from an HD Dealer. Top end redone 20k ago, has Thunderheader, and was dynoed and serviced where I bought it. Not aware of any other performance mods.

does it have a SERT?

I get a few places where I have something that feels "out of band" - best way I can describe it, and I think its due to the fact that I have not had a real tune done to the motor.

I have a map that someone here posted for a pretty similar setup as mine - 103" with a stage one AC and exhaust...but I think the slight difference is giving me the feeling or the actual occurrence of a miss.

I hope to do geared cam's this winter and will then get it properly tuned - waste of limited resource until then.

This would be my 14th Harley...... Somethin' ain't right about the 3000 rpm miss. it is a real live, constant miss. Not sure about the race tuner..... Hard to believe i used to work on Harleys for a living. Not nearly as familiar with Twin Cams and Injection as i am with all previous machines....
This miss is constant in all years. Happens at 3k and is a bad miss/sputter. Acts like a low fuel condition

Got nothin but a manual and a sales agreement..... Is there nothing installed on the bike? Is the Race Tuner just a mapping device that works with existing OBD connections?

would have come with the bike...small grey thing with serial ports on either end and cables to hook it to the ECM...

If it was dyno tuned where you bought it, they should be able to tell you what the problem is. Post the dyno sheet for us to see......that tells a story. They can also tell you if it has a SERT.

By the way, I think it's an 04MY........they didn't make a SEEG in 03MY.

It is in fact an 04. Good spot. My brain has a miss at 3000 rpm too....lol

Welcome to the site and to loads of info and help! I have the same ride; I purchased it Memorial Day with only 3,200 miles on it. Told my wife it was perfect as is; I put Rinehart Duals and a Stage I air cleaner on it and I'm waiting for my TMAX to show up so I can finish the job.
