Stainless lines?
« on: August 21, 2009, 08:49:43 PM »

When I got my bike home yesterday and was going over her Something didn't look right. The brake and clutch line coming out of the batwing to the bars are not braided. Is that true with all yours?

yep....I was pretty annoyed with that one also. I guess they figured nobody would notice since the inner fairing is black and so is the frame.

If you look at the specifications page, you'll see that the only braided ones are from the fairing down to the front brake calipers.  Don't know why they didn't put the braided all around, but supposedly, this is their new black cables that are supposedly reinforced underneath the black plastic coating.   :nixweiss:

Not a 'biggie', but, I was a tad surprised that they didn't use the braided ones also.  :-\ spyder

Agree Spyd.  I was a little disappointed also.  But after looking at them, they aren't the old "rubber hoses" that they used to use.  These look to be pretty substantial lines.  And with the black inner fairing, they kind of disappear from view, which gives a nice clean look inside the fairing. :)

Well
As long as were picking it apart, how about no chrome screws on the chrome controls, no chrome bolts on the two point dock. Anybody notice anything else?

All the bikes (including the CVO's) come with non-polished or non-chromed fasteners.  Like they couldn't spend the few extra dollars to appoint their 'custom' bikes with polished SS fasteners.   That's weak.  :( JMHO.  spyder

They don't use chrome because chrome over steel rusts once you put a tool to it and get it wet.
Now do you all want rusted hardware???  Go look at an ultra and take a look at the console screw for example...you want THIS on your bike?  Not me.

My point exactly.....(that's what most of us have to change out to and the MoCo should ship 'um that way if they really wanted to produce a bike to be proud of.. :(....aaaarrrgh)  spyder
