Not a recall but a service bulletin, the belt gaurd is blocking the drain hole in the swingarm, making the swingarm hold water . There is a no# for the service bulletin but I do not have it.

seat replaced, front fender replaced, screws fell out of both saddle bag latches, no major problems......I love it!  6500 mi. :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks Doc.

As for WLDTHG; she's had her seat replaced.  Other than that, with 4,841 miles since the first day of Spring delivery, she too had a loose bag mount bolt (it vibrated off during the warm up idle in the garage and was easily found after that ride) and the overfillage of the crankcase out of the factory are the only problems I've encountered.

I just ordered the second set of tires just for the case in case and will get them at my local tire-shop for half the price of the MoCo`s .

I spoke to a HD mechanic who installed my exhaust and this is the advice he gave me about warranty claims:

He told me that if you want to get something covered under warranty it is best for the customer to call HD directly.  HD does not like to deal with their customers and are quicker to approve claims if it comes from the customers.  If the dealer tries to file a claim, they are quick to reject it so the dealer has to suck it up and deal with it.  He told me that he was always fighting with HD to get things covered.

I got the recall on my rear wheel the other day.  Is that what you're calling an R1?  If so, can I check myself without having to take it to the dealer?

Purchased December 17th, with two warranty claims.

1,000 miles... seat replacement
6,500 Starter Clutch, ACR's not turned on.
10,000 front tire showing signs on cupping..
12,000 replaced front and rear tires..

steering head bearing tightened
new seat on order...dealer was really great about it as I only wanted the longer tab
and am ending up with a new seat and a longer tab!
everything else has been awesome.

Gotta know about the new seat and the longer Tab:  Did Harley have a longer Tab for the seat issue? What's the PN#  And you mention a new seat?  You mean a new same seat or different style?

I too would like to know if HD has a longer tab covered under warrenty.  I'll get it if they do, even though I use a solo on mine 98% of the time

It is going to be the same new seat and the dealer was just going to make a new tab up for me, apparently
some model bikes have longer or shorter seat tabs and they are going to use one of them and drill out
a new hole if need be. The seat wont be in for another week to a week and a half so when I have in hand
I will post an update.
