Heavy Breather
« on: August 24, 2009, 07:41:56 PM »

Looking for help spending more money on my Road Glide.  Want to get the Heavy Breather unit,  but,  how much leg room doe's it take up.  I put the Highway pegs up fairly high on the bars.

Whats your experience.

Thanks in advance

6'0" No problem. Just remember if the Heavy Breather kit say to used the existing breather bolts, don't. My experience and other's in this formun have experience oil leaks by using the bolts from the existing ail filter. You may have to purchase the breather bolts from a 2008 Road Glide. Bolt should have a hole thru the bolt.

Altugo,

You will know your shin on the HD heavy breather but I don't find it to be a problem.

Most important!!  As noted above, you'll need the stock breather bolts from the 96" RG, HD part #29465-08.  They come as a pair..  If you search "breather bolts" in the SERG board, you'll read what happened to some of us.  If you use yours and run the motor, you'll puke oil all over the right side (been there).  Good luck.

Nice! Thats on my list...... I have this on my 2008 SERK and for me it gets in the way of me putting my leg up on the crash bar. Granted, its not a SERG.

I have a question, if, and I say if, cause I don't know, if the stock filter is pushing in all the air that the stock throddler body can take, what is the point on the heavy breather???
