Will it run with the rain sock on? Yes, rain/dust/mud socks have been out there for 30 years. You could run it all the time if you wanted, just don't look cool.

Is there any difference between the ventilator performance air cleaner and the heavy breather? My harley dealer is trying to sell me the air cleaner along with the pro super tuner.

The Heavy Breather is a good AC.  I had it on my 08 Street Glide, however the Ventilator is a High-flow AC also.  Not sure you really need the heavy breather for performance gains.  I think it would be more for looks and about $300.   My dealer didn't see the necessity to change the ventilator out for anything.  They could have easily have told me I needed a heavy breather or another high-flow air cleaner.  :nixweiss:

Next Question
Now that I know I don't need to buy a new air cleaner I have installed a set of klockwerks Revolver slipons. I know that it would be better to get a tuner and put a map in it but do I really need to do that at this time, or is it ok to run the bike till I get the 1000 mi service on it?

My dealer recommened a retune when I changed my mufflers.  The stock SESG mufflers are very restrictive and the Klockwerks are not...it will run leaner than it already is, which is not good.
