We left Sacramento and headed to Jim's shop to have some mods done on the new SESG before we left for our trip.

It got up to 110F as we headed south on Hwy. 101.  We were constantly stopping to re-wet our cool vest and cool snakes and replenish the water in our portable misters but we pushed on.  We ended up in Mojave, Calif. that night, where it had already cooled down to 93F. 

We left at 6:30 a.m. the next day and were at the Paris Hotel & Casino on the strip in Vegas before noon.  It only reached 93F on Sat. and the news said they're in a "cool down" this week and the forecasted high of only 93F all week!

I convinced them to let us stay parked in the valet area (with a nice tip).  I have to say that the Paris has one of the nicest pool areas of all the casinos that I've been to. :2vrolijk_21:  Worked for us.

We stopped at the Moapa Indian Reservation for breakfast.  Seemed to be the place of choice for the local bikers. :2vrolijk_21:

She looked just like Molly and after a near death experience with a pick up truck where the driver acted like he could have cared less.....I was off on a mission to locate the dog's owner.  After about half an hour of knocking on doors, we finally located the dog's owner down the highway a quarter mile.

Utah is really proud of their state......the state line sign was about 2' square.  Very small compared to most state signs, I almost missed it. :nixweiss:
