We stopped at a restaurant for lunch at a restaurant in Mt. Carmel (where the federal gov't raided the polygamist compound and took all those kids).  Terrie was able to photograph the humingbirds at the feeder.

I was very suprised at the altitude of the north rim.  One area is over 8,500 ft.

The food in the restaurant was great.  Can't say the same for the cabin, but the view from our front door was very nice.

It was very cold when we got up this morning.  Full leathers and we were still cold.  Got to the entrance to the North Rim and noticed fresh (not even dirty yet) snow on the side of the road.

We arrived early, at the Lodge on the north rim, yesterday.

You can tell by the two jackets that it's still pretty cold.........low 50s.  I was feeling more like low 30s.  I guess I've been taking those leg fairings for granted for a few years. :nixweiss:
