2005 cvo Transmission leaking
« on: August 25, 2009, 11:42:32 PM »

Well here is the deal. I took a 100 mile ride today and noticed I am leaking trasmission fluid. It is dripping from the bottom of the primary below the plug. I know it is not the primary fluid for it is motor oil in it. It appears to be coming from between the inner primary and transmission or coming out of the seal from the shifter rod. What is involved in this? Anybody had  this problem? thanks

Shift shaft seal is a very common leak on these. Inner primary needs to be removed to change it. DO NOT use the HD seal it will leak again. Cometic makes a double lip seal that works well.

Roger on HD - Dude's comments. I've had two replaced (w/ HD's) under warranty. Next time it's Cometic.
