The standard 09' Road Glide seat could make a good touring seat.
Just swap it out for the long . . . rides.
I think they are priced under $200.

I thought the stock 09 SERG seat was comfortable, I just wanted a backrest and the cost of that made me go to an aftermarket seat.

I usually send the the original seat to Russell Day-Long.com they will buld you a marvelous seat. They built me one for my 2001 SE Road Glide, 2008 SE Ultra, and now my 2009 SE Road Glide. Leaather top, vinyl sides-cost $600, never think seat no matter the miles. Hope this helps.

Corbin was my choice - had one for 8 years on my '00 and wife & I both loved it so did it again on the '09.  Made a nice drive down to Hollister this summer to have it fit up, don't have to do it there but nice to customize on the spot.  I know some have "issues" with Corbin but I never have.   Lots of choices for you Dow!

Re: RoadGlide Hammock seat question

We put the Hammock seat on our bike and although it's cush and comfy, it seems to make your britches sweat more.
Yes,  I do live in Houston Texas, where you sweat just looking out the window, but I didn't seem to have the same issues with the stock seat.
It says it's vinyl/leather and I'm wondering if the vinyl is just not absorbing the moisture.  It looks like I wet my pants everywhere I go.
I found a small black towel I was able to secure across the seat and am hoping for an early fall.
The HD dealership traded out my stock seat with the Hammock and kept the stock seat, ( I'm sure to send in for warranty purposes), but I sure wish I
had it back so I could switch back and forth.
