The Davidson Family Home in Scotland
« on: September 21, 2009, 07:49:26 AM »

A few members from our little club - http://www.dunedinharley.com/ - yesterday became the first to visit as a club, at the little house in Scotland from where Willie G's ancestors emigrated to the US.

Amazingly, the house was lived in by a little old <unrelated> lady till 6 or 7 years ago.  There are plans to restore it to be as it was when the Davidsons left Scotland in the 1850s, as a visitor attraction.  It was JUST saved from the bulldozers, thanks to the efforts of the people who will restore it - http://www.davidsonlegacy.com

There was a suggestion that the fireplace inside the house in this picture must be Willie G's Great Great Great Grate.....  ;D

Interesting story! Are the U.S Davidsons participating in the restoration of the site?

I don't think so, which is a little surprising!
