The problem with the Windvest I had was, it doesn't go down around the sides of the headlamp, and cover the trees, so I got a great deal up updraft on the highway. That's why I switched to the SS.

Had the HD one on mine... Works good as any..you'll have to slot the plate around the headlight...

Take a look at Clearview Windshields...

http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=223

Very good company to do business with and a great product!

With their re-curve you can go with a lower shield for that sporty look and still have great wind protection.  You also have a choice of tinting depending on the look you want.

Personally I like a dark tint on a dark painted bike.

Good luck with you search.

Take care & ride safe,

Could you post some photos of how you slotted the chrome headlight surround? I would like to see what that looks like.

Thanks!

You can just remove it, and save it, instead of hacking it up. Looks fine without.

That Clearview shield looks like it would work very well but it also looks to big for a deuce.
I hate to give up the sporty looks of the Deuce.

Well TODAY I rode a cvo Deuce with a WINDVEST

I thought there was a lot of wind coming up from the tank under the shield.

I was kinda disappointed but also expected to be, since it is so open around the headlight.

Is the Harley shield better in that respect??

Please add your opinion.

Todd.

Have the stock HD windshield on my wife's Deuce. Recently upgraded to the quick-release model with the vice grip locking device that leaves the downtubes free of hardware. Like it better. Regardless of which one you use, you have to remove the chrome headlight surround piece. Wasn't a problem here as larger headlight bucket necessitated that anyway. As far as wind protection, I would rate it quite good, at least as good as the HD one on my WG2. As far as looks, I think it looks ok (for a windshield). It only takes 15 seconds to take it off so that is a big plus. The bracing isn't as strong (doesn't extend as far horizontally across the shield) as the WG2 shield so it seems a bit flimsier towards the top of the shield but that could just be me. Judging from the photos, the HD one seems to extend farther down on either side of the headlamp. I would assume that would result in more wind protection from below.

I ran into the same thing which is what prompted me to discard the Winvest and go to the HD SS Quick Release which helped in that dept alot.

I have a Windvest on mine. It does what I want. It keeps the wind blast off your chest, The bugs off your face and you still get plenty of air. You get to keep the fork filler without modification. It's not a touring windsheild, It's kind of a trade off like a form over function thing. I don't think you can beat the Windvest for hardware and style. All the others have better wind protection. :2vrolijk_21:
