Stop these California wildfires!
« on: October 04, 2009, 05:28:16 PM »

This crap has got to stop! When the Kiwi's were here from New Zealand we met with them and took them through Angeles Crest Highway, now closed due to the fires melting so many guard rails. Today a fire has all residents of the town of Wrightwood evacuated with fire racing up the hill. One of our favorite destinations for lunch is Wrightwood. Bummer.
This picture is on Lone Pine Road in Wrightwood, ghost town today.

Angeles Crest Highway, closed and may NEVER reopen. With all the fire damage and rains coming they fear it may stay closed forever. A true loss to all who have been there and those that may never experience it.

For those that didn't know, that Mars fire fighting ship is from Canada and comes down to help here in So. Cal. It is stationed in Lou's backyard, he is on call to clear the runway/lake when it is taking off and coming home. Three cheers for Lou and Terry for their time and effort in keeping these firefighters safe and working!
