Tis the Season for Deer
« on: October 21, 2009, 02:11:13 PM »

Here come the deer strike stories.  I almost got clobbered yesterday about 05:30 am.  1/8 mile from the house, on the way to work Bambi is standing just off the road going away from the road.  As I approached and recognized him the dumba$$ does a 180 and bolts right in front of me!  Luckily, I'm paranoid about just this situation and had my hand and foot already in motion...missed him by a hair but was ready to get broadsided by his runningmate/s...none came though.  Phew!

I DO need to get the seat re-covered now :o

Not only the early morning hours and the early evening hours the time when deer are out more, hunting season stirs them up and makes them cross the roads more often. Good to hear you did not connect.

Brown seats an IN in 2010. That was a inexpensive upgrade!

Around here you not only have to watch out for the deer, you have to watch out for the hunting dogs that are chasing them. Weekends are really bad as that is when most dog hunting s done. ( note to non hunters: no we are not hunting dogs. )
Then we get to worry about the ones standing by the road also.
