The reason I separated them was.....the wife never uses it....Never.

So I re routed the Passenger Comm. Port back up the backbone and up to the Batwing.

Some may think this isn't worth the hassle, but it would be very difficult to hide it around the battery area.
you can use these wire to drive lower fairing speakers

Yeah Larry, not going that route.

I like my compartments, I just need to get some more conduit for the speaker wire. Then it will get tucked away out of site until I put the TP back on.

Thanks though.

I have a vision, just hope it turns out the way I think it will.

Update.......

Dakota Digital came in, Hog Wired came in, J&M hidden antennas came in, Seat is in.
Just waiting on the Radio to come back.

Last night.......shweeewww glad it's in the past.

The Gauges got installed.......Now here's the deal, if you were like me and already had a Oil Temperature gauge it's a PIA.
My suggesttion would be if you are thinking of these gauges do not change the ambient temperature gauge.....WAIT!

Bottom line, it was time consuming.
I also have to change the probe in the oil pan....the connections are different...Go Figure.
All other gauges are strictly plug and play.....Honest.
Having the radio out was actually pretty helpful, just gave you that little extra room for the oil pressure gauge and the oil temp. gauge.

Now the Batwing is losing room rapidly especially with the amp/speaker connections for the Hawg Wired system and the hidden antennas....I do not have it all sorted out yet.

I'll figure it out.

Pictures are coming, there is no need for a step by step for the gauges, they are on the Dakota Web-site to include pictures.

I do have a question though, if someone has any experience with this....

The hidden antenna, is ther any reason I shouldn't feed the antenna down the backbone? there is plenty of room just wondering if being under the tank will it affect it reception?
AM/FM only.

I don't think it will work Dick. I know with a CB you want the Ant a little higher than the unit. but in your case, too much metal causing interference. I know all about crowded fairings. zip-tie zip-tie zip-tie

Thanks Larry, that was my only concern.

I have plent of Zip Ties, no worries.

The wires are easy, the components take up most of the room.

you might be able to velcro it to the outer fairing and have a disconnect close by when you need to remove

Rear t/p wire, Rear speaker wires

Just a heads up, be careful on putting rear speaker, etc. connectors on top of the ecm connector. It can put pressure on the connection between the ecm connector and the ecm. It happened to me !

Got it, mine are currently behind the Battery area, I disconnected the ECM and removed the battery cover and slipped all the wires behind.....nice and clean.

Wonder if your oil gauge probe is like mine, to small for the hole so went to local hardware store and bought a brass bushing to add to it.

Wasn't the probe, it was the electrical connection, I thought for sure it was going to work......only because of what I have heard.

"If you already have a Oil Temp Gauge it's real easy"............. just more time consuming.

It's all good though, I could have spliced the wires in the Batwing........thought that would be kinda "Jerry Rigging" it.

Now, I said I was doing a little Black.

I have done the Passenger Back rest and the Luggage rack.....Be honest because I am second guessing myself.
I can return, the dealership is kinda working with me on this. At least in that aspect.
