Rockford S.D.

Actually, the town is Rochford, SD but who's going to quibble over a misplaced "h".  More importantly, check out the tire marks on the pavement.  About every afternoon during Sturgis week people bring their bikes out to the Moonshine Gulch Saloon and do burnouts.  And, drink beer.  This is great comedy since most people only think they know how to do one but they all know how to drink beer.  There's usually no lack of riders wearing Arlen Ness-wannabe yellow shirts on bikes with HUGE rear tires, only to find out money may buy you a gaudy bike but it doesn't teach you how to do a burnout.  Most days there's a photographer taking pictures, then selling calendars the following year.  One guy had a pretty new Street Glide and he was smoking his rear tire with consistency.  When it came time to leave and he loaded up his lady, the photographer asked him to do a burnout with her on the back.  I asked my self, what could go wrong with this?  Anyway, he tried 3 or 4 burnouts but the bike kept dying from the jump.  Someone from the sidelines poured a beer on the blacktop, the SG rolled into it, dumped the clutch and nothing but rear belt came from under the fender.  Rochford is 23 miles from Deadwood.  That guy might still be stranded.   :jack:  Oops, sorry.

yep.  I've seen a # of belts come shooting out the back in the burnout pits at Daytona.  And clutchs give up the ghost, etc, etc.  People got more $$$ than I and don't mind using it up to please the crowd.  :confused5: spyder

WAFFEL HOUSE

Stopped at a WH on my mad dash to Pensacola last year - last time I was in one and the last time I will ever be in one.

Yeah, what's not to like about their cheeze eggs, buttered raisin-toast and pork chops?  :P har.  spyder

Yea, it's one of those places that you want to stop by when you're on a more leisurely pace.....stick around awhile....savor the atomosphere.....listen to the Waffle House anthem play on the juke box. ;D

Q.  How many employees at the WH does it take to have a full set of teeth?  A.  All of them!

With many thanks to 110 Mofo and Wrongway for juicing this thread, attached is today's effort. 110 Mofo reminded me of a famous location just 7 miles from my house so, today being one of the first nice days of the spring, I rode down to complete the only truly legal photo of this location on this thread.

Pic 2. More bike, less Mickeys. Took my father-in-law down here for breakfast a few years ago. Drive by it every few months but had just forgotten what a truly unique site it is. Even matches the Switchblade!

While in downtown St. Paul, I figured I'd take the time to stop by one of the other famous sites.

Check for yourself Spyd. Maybe I'll make you the moderator of this thread.

Maybe now Wrongway will repost his photo of Jay Leno's garage. Would love it if he did!
