But they run a lot longer.
And I never borrowed a bike to make a GTG.

Wow, you're one priveledged guy aren't you now?!!! You continue to reference this here and there, like there's something wrong with it. Or like you're so much better than everyone since you never did. Well I'm very appreciative of ANYONE who will offer to loan a bike to anyone for any reason. Sometimes you don't have enough time to go long distances, and need to borrow or rent one. Sometimes you break down on the road, and are offered a bike rather than stay home, because your friends would rather see you make the trip. Shows you how generous some people are who are willing to even offer that, as I've done on both sides of the fence with some of the great members here. But I guess you're so much better than everyone else here becauset you never needed to borrow a bike (which I don't necessarily believe you NEVER borrowed a bike). At least you talk like you are. Or maybe it's just that nobody will loan you one?!!! :nixweiss: ::) :P :D ;)

Interesting observation....other than porthole, all the guy's that suggest that the Fat Cat should never be run with a ghost seem to only post pics of their bike from the right side or rear. Never from the left side. I wonder why that is?

Yes, but...don't most of us post pics of the right side of the bike regardless of what pipes we have on?  Unless you have a center stand, the right side is the side best exposed for photographing.

I don't know...there's an awful lot of chrome covers and other doodads on that SE Ultra of yours to suggest that if something doesn't have a function there's no need for it.

Yes there is a lot chrome, but all have function.

Not hanging any weight on the bike that has no function.

Windshield trim my be my biggest violation, but all of the chrome has some function (covers, controls, ect)
if chrome goes on something must come off.

no toppers, no faux chrome covers, chrome primary Yes, cover No.

I actually had to go out and look at bike to see how much I violated my own  policy and Duane is correct right now.
no trailer why put a hitch on ...............

How many like the look of 2 pipes but have only 1 lamp outside their front door?  WTF?

That's right Dave.
I have had a Harley since 78 and it has always been a natural shot to take a picture from the pipe/breather side.

Oh I don't know Dave, If I have 5000 pics of my bikes (not that far fetched) I would venture to say that "left and right" are close to equal. With a good bunch of fore and aft thrown in for good measure.

Many moons ago, I was told that HD thought the right side was the better looking side and that is why the front brake went on the left side when solo. I like the obvious lean angle thing too.

BUT, Candy's best bike shot is from the left side, and yes you can see the sproket thingy!

And a beautiful bike she has.
But what about yours?
I enjoyed the hell out of riding behind you and listening to that D&D sing!

I took a look through my photos to see what I have.  From my last 3 bikes, I have a total of about 10 photos of the left side and a few hundred from the right side...plus about another dozen from the rear and another 8 from the front.  The photos from front and rear were mostly taken showing the front and rear, along with the right side of the bikes.  I'm more than convinced that I favor the right side photos.  Again, if I had a center stand, I'm sure I would likely take more photos of the left side, but since I don't, I won't.

To go one step further, I checked out photos of cars, and it looks like everytime I ever took a photo from one side, I also took the other...so I don't just have some general propensity to photograph everything from the right side...it's just a bike thing I guess.

I don't know what all of this has to do with liking one pipe or two though.  When I got my D&D's, I only got the 2-1 side originally and added the chrome belt guard cover.  I just didn't like the looks without the other muffler.  That's a personal choice.  I don't think that it's something that we can argue about on here.  There is no correct answer, except on an individual basis.  When I ordered the ghost pipe, several of my friends made fun of me...until they saw it on there.  They all agreed that it looked better.

The worst part of it is that we, as the riders, only see the rear of the ghost pipe sticking out the back.  When you are riding, and the bike is upright, it's others that see that ugly rear sprocket.  I may have stuck with one muffler if there were an easy way of making that rear sprocket chrome, but that's not the case.  You can't even get a chrome cover for it.  I may have very well lived with it, given a chrome rear sprocket, but I still think that eventually, I would have ended up with 2 mufflers.  Again, it's a personal choice.

This is one of those topics that I think we all just have to agree to disagree on.  Happy holidays everyone!
