BBS (Burned Boot Syndrome).  Part of every bike I've ever had that ever carried a passenger.

I noticed on mine that the passenger footboards came from the factory in the higher of the two positions, and I'm assuming they're all that way.

Only thing that comes to mind is the "Boot Dr." for Passenger Floorboards, and "Heel Protectors" by Kuryakan, both can be found at J&P Cycles . Haven't tried either of the products, so can't say how well they work. I just warn passengers when they get on that pipes are close and will burn, been lucky so far.

Even worse when it's your own boots. First time I rode my Fatboy I had been use to tucking my feet in close to bike from riding "other" brands. Got home and had a nice heel burn mark on pipe.

As anyone tried these I can't find a part # nor my dealership can't either. It looks like the rear
boards are adjustable Up and down and back and forth????
Would like to know how they really work.

Almost has to be a prototype part that accidentally made it in to a production photo. If so we may see it, or something like it, released at the next dealer show.

As always alot of great info, thanks all, looking into all of them, this is the first bike that I ever had with this problem. lol took my son for a ride a couple of weeks ago, almost burned his whole heel off before I saw it, one hour cleaning the goo off the pipes and a new pair of boots he is happy again.

I like the looks of the passenger pipe/boot guards. But to tell you the truth, I'd be very hesitant to install the rider version on my bike. I still remember well the incident (more than once) I had as a kid on my bicycle when my pant leg got jambed in between the chain and pedal spocket. Of course, that's the side I'd be falling to and couldn't get my foot to the ground to brake the fall. I'd hate to pull that same stunt on my ride of choice today. Or for that mater, I'd hate to be seen doing the acrobatics that would follow such a blunder. lol
