FXR3 seat on a FXR4 ??

Will an FXR3 seat fit correctly on an FXR4?

I'm PRETTY sure that it will ...... far as I know the seat was the same on the 2, 3 & 4 ......... but I"m no expert.

but know this, the frames are the same, so the seat pan would be the same, as it has to fit the frame

also, all those models have the nose tab and screw button in the back

no reason why that would not fit

I assumed the seat would/should fit, no reason that it should not - right?
Wanted to ask around first though. Seems the obvious regarding parts purchases often means lost $$$ with HDs.

As far as I know, they should all mount the same and fit. The FXR2 came with a Badlander I believe. The FXR3 had it's own seat. ;)

The FXR3 has a different part number than the FXR4 - which is, I am guessing here, a style issue not fitment - I guess  :confused5:

Seat for 1999 FXR3:  HD number 52449-99,  HD retail $285.00
Seat for 2000 FXR4:  HD number 52450-99,  HD retail $269.95

Corbin shows a universal fitment from 1982-2001 for all the FXR, FXR2, FXR4 and FXR4 bikes.  The couple of old beat up FXR bikes I used to have would allow seat interchange.  Same frame and tank sizes.  Don't remember differences in the dashes on them.  Seats should work across all of them.

Were the 94's the flip up two piece seat?  As you may have read, I converted FXR4 to the two piece flip up seat.  Very easy to convert, very practical to check oil and it looks a bit more retro, IMHO.

not sure what the last year was for the flip up ... but as you know, even the 2004 still had the little tabs required for the flip up welded onto the frames ..... that made it a lot easier for you to have the flip up  huh    ;D

Very easy, thanks to your help with the hardware, Mikey.  Just waitin onn weather.  I haven't even seen my rides in almost 3 months.

Thanks to you too !!!  I have the part that you made for me, I have the risers, for 6 months or more ...... plan to install them some time in the next couple of weeks if we can get a warm day around here !!!!!
