Going on a 17 day trip this summer and I'm looking for a bigger bag to attach to my luggage rack.

I have a HD Expandable Duffle Bag but would like something bigger.

If were me, I'd just ship some clean clothes to 1/2 way point and ship old clothes back in same box

USPS has some really good rates and really both UPS and FedEx are reasonable also

I'm not much for straping a bunch of bags on my scooter as I want it to be responsive

Here's an idea, buy a bike that matches my 09 SEUC and you can borrow my trailer.
OK, another idea, ship the stuff you need to the places your going.

Sure, if you can talk the Queen into it no problem.  But I'll wager that more than likely we'll be pulling it ourselves.  As for the money, chit, with all the extra coins you'll be getting from the Toyota business coming your way it'll be no problem.

Tommy, seriously - he has a great point.  Several years ago I didn't want to pull my Bushtec on a trip 'cause I wanted to ride the Blue Ridge for a while.  I had the same H-D duffel bag as you all expanded and full of chit as was the tour pak and the saddlebags.  Big mistake.  The bike's handling on the Parkway scared me.  I've ridden it since with the trailer - no problem at all and much better than overloading the back of the bike.

How the heck to you get those bags to fit on the small rack on our leather tour pak anyway?

I agree... I feel much more stable and in control pulling the Bushtec vs. hanging bags all over my bike.

I bought a king tourpack.  Waiting to get it back from the painter.

jeffj's advise on shipping stuff is a good one but won't work on this trip.  The longest we will be at one location (Deadwood) is three nights.  Other days will be overnight stops.

Some advice that was given to me after I overpacked for an extended trip was to pack less t-shirts, shorts, & socks then I would actually need. More then likely you'll be stopping at dealerships picking up t-shirts or if you are going to a major event you'll get event t-shirts. For shorts and socks you can always go to a Wally World and pick up some new ones and throw your dirty clothes away or ship them back home. Another option is most hotels have guest laundry services you could pack less and wash on the road.
