License Plate
« on: February 14, 2011, 02:28:28 PM »

I really don't think I will do much customizing on my Screamin Eagle Deuce.
One thing I hate is the license plate bracket on rear fender.
I picked up a Kuryakin side mount plate with led lights.
Wondering what is the best wire to tap into under the seat. It just needs to light up when the engine is on.
Anyone ever hook up a side mount plate?..any suggestions?

I will be removing the holder that hangs down in back and exposing more of the rear tire.

Otherwise, I will probably keep this beautiful bike mostly stock....plenty of bling as it is.

I have heard err.. said that before!! I hear you tho.... So far little stuff, SEST, software, training video, and cables, exhaust, a new flamed 5 3/4" headlight housing and all the internals. Fun bike, really pretty, it is my hot rod around town and on day trips. I still use my FatBoy for crappy weather and most road trips so the SED will stay pretty for a long while.
I still have not had the motor dyno tuned but that is my next move. This had another brand of tuner, so when it failed, they used the SEST with the warrenty work so I am starting over on my knowlege base....

SJR:I have been looking at the same problem with the license plate frame. It needs to be there, just shorter than stock. Did u remove it or cut it off? I am considering cutting it off but leaving about 1" of it below the fender to drill a couple of holes and bolt the lp to it so u that u see a bunch more tire and will still have the light required for the plate to be seen at night. I may do that today and see how it looks. Pictures will be posted in a day or so and u can see if it is another way of doing this that makes the wiring problem go away.

it actually lays the license plate back as well which makes it hide even less tire from that as well. Anyway I think I like it and it cost me nada... :2vrolijk_21:
