Grover,

Yeah its a handful when you whack it hard from a stop.  Actually considering going back to a 25 tooth front counter sprocket and changing to a 30 tooth front belt pulley.   If it dont hook up its an interesting launch :).    Other day I was out testing the Orange bike with the new cam, Jim (owner of Bragging Rights)  was on it and i was on the road king and he said give a wack .. well I gave it a bit to much of a wack on the throttle and I broke the rear tire loose at about 50 and well the the pucker ensued hehe.  I am pretty sure you can pull the jim's trainny out and replace the first 2 gears with taller ones Andrews makes them for pretty much all the vendors as I have been told.   Not saying others arent making gears, but was under the impression from listening to a bunch of guys that they were a main supplier of them.

Or call Jim's and ask them if they have another gear set for that trainny.

Thanks Harry,

That set-up really intrigues me. I'm gonna check into it. I'll call Jims.
What's it like down shifting from 3rd to 2nd? I suppose there's a big spike in rpm. Something to get used to...

Take Care,

Grover

I have a 2006 Ultra Classic SE with a six speed and love it. At the same RPM I have gained 10 more MPH.

Just took my maiden voyage today with a 6 speed and 3.37 gearing and I love it. It's perfect.

Sorry about that. I stand corrected.  LOL   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Actually, being a born in Texas kinda guy, I wouldn't change a thing.  ;D

Except, ....that,.....it's rained every day since my bike got here. And to think we were in the middle of a very long drought. Worst one in over 50 years. I guess I can take credit for the drought buster we are getting today.  ::)

......If you would consider changing the engine sprocket out to a 24, or 25 tooth, (only takes a couple hours or less), I would be curious as to your ability to keep up with Ol' Maudie.

Hub,

Actually planning on putting in the 25 tooth again and changing out the 32 pulley to a 30 pulley.    Right now its more setup to run 1/4 mile than miles like you like.   Heads were supposed to go out in the beginning of February, but the shop wasnt able to fit them in until after bike week.   Bike prolly isnt going to be ready to run with ole maude till june time frame when I get the heads back.  Hopefully though Zippers will deliver my pistons / heads when they arrive in Ormond and if they do I will have the cherry back up and running.

Always looking to twist the throttle, so if nothing else we can go play and have a good time, also I am supposed to be in Soggy Valley around the 4th of july again this year.   I will probably trailer up as a buddy isnt set to ride two up and stay a week in the mountains on his SE Duece.  He says his bride couldnt pack light enough :)   Mine is willing to iron butt it up, so we will see as the time gets closer.
