Here is a picture of the above piece.

Is the 06 one not the same, Firedood?

Can I ask, is the fender the same, for fitting this as for fenders that take a lighted fender tip?  (What I mean is, there are no different/extra holes in the fenders that take the illuminated tip, are there?)

Jim, the fenders that take the fender tip light have a hole (1/2") for the wire (big enough for the connector too) and a pair of smaller holes for the mounting screws that go through the light itself.

Cheers

Your bike is UK spec Dave - so you have that ugly number plate bracket they fit.  My question was intended to work out whether removing that and moving it up to the US position would be OK just fitting the badge we're discussing here, or whether there are extra holes.  Had your number plate bracket off yet, and if so - does your fender have the extra holes?

Yes and yes - there will be the extra holes but you can cover them with a fendertip light

Same holes for the nasty HDI plate carrier are used for the fendertip light from what I can see.

The UK spec rear fender is a different part # to the domestic for the 05SEEG and I guess the holes are the difference

I have a US spec rear fender in the garage off a 06 ultra (but not a SE) so I will double check tomorrow but I'm pretty sure they (MoCo) are going to minimise inventory if possible and the tip light and HDI bracket will be interchangeable on the fender

If I have time I will offer the both items up and take some photos so you can see.

If it's a real problem for you, you will need to get a US Spec fender in primer and have it sprayed - shouldn't cost more than

Jim, I just thought of something else.

The SUBTOTBF that gets talked about here is of course to cover the "rivet" for the rear fender brace

This is the brace that is pretty much hidden but fastens to the "rivet" on the inside of the fender and also to the bottom of the side struts/saddle bag lower rails

On non CVO bikes (and maybe Road Glides) the rear bumper did the same thing i.e located and secured the bottom of the fender to stop it flapping around

On the HDI fender the No plate bracket or tip lamp covers this "rivet"

I am actually also looking for the same solution as you ie the US spec indicator bar with built in illumination and bracket to mount the No plate up higher under the tail lanmp but this is so I can mount a tow ball for my trailer

Ho Hum - it would be no fun if it was all perfect out of the box - would it?

Cheers

You don't need to change the indicator bar, Dave. It's the same worldwide.  What I did on my current ultra was just take of the daft ugly number plate bracket and lamp, fit (went straight on using existing holes) an illuminated fender tip (power came from the lead for the UK number plate light), change the rear light lens for one (from ebay) with the clear window on top, and fit a small sized number plate and chrome surround above the rear light, exactly the same as the US bikes. I also got the number plate mounting plate black powder coated, which looks a million times better. Illegal, of course, due to the number plate size, but I've never been pulled up for it in three years and 18000 miles.  See attached photo.

Jim,
That picture is actually from a '06 SE Ultra. So I think it would be safe to say the part number is the same. I would have dealer check part numbers before trying to order.

Jim, we are talking about different indicators here

On the 05SEEG we have the "Bullet" style lamps rather than the "pancake" style

Yes, I know Dave - but I assumed the lamp bar on HDI models would be the same. On the HDI ordinary one, the "differences" are that lenses are E-marked, that's it!  Looks from your diagram as if it's a different shape on the SEEG

Thanks Firedood.  It's beginning to look as if the fender itself is going to be different on the HDI bikes, so there may not be anywhere to fit it...  :(

I think we are going to need to have the equivalent pages from the 06 CUSE parts book posted so we can get the definitive answer.

Since your top box (Tour Pak) is not QD and your plate is up under there like on the "old" models and you don't have the stealth rack getting in the way you will not need the downlighting light bar like the 05 SEEG so you may well be right and the item will be the same for HDI and Domestic

No, cos it has the bullet turn signals - it'll be different again from the 05 SEEG, though I'd guess it'll be the same as yours.   Wonder why they didn't fit the same one to HDI models using the US number plate mount, instead of that ugly thing they do fit.....

The combinations of fender holes, light bars, number plate mounting, and Cloisonne fitting capability is getting REALLY confusing!  Having looked at the 05 US SEEG
