So there I was, 3 weeks since surgery on the groin. My best friend keeps calling me to go for a ride, I don't know if I can do it yet, but he keeps trying. I have had two members crash here at the Kings Kastle in the meantime and they hurt me! If you ever had hernia surgery you know, don't make me laugh! Well if you know Roger (trapperdog) and Ernie (erniezap) you know that they are going to put a hurt on you! So here is the story, Marty (110mofo) is my closest and best friend, he has been there through the times I needed him most. Calling me and checking on my health daily (friends like Ernie, Roger, Lou, Melanie, Paula, Don, Soozie, Jimmy, and Vee have been on the phone all this time as well)and riding my ass to go for a ride. Dude! Do you know how hard it is to walk, much less ride? OK, so he calls me this week and says, "We're riding" and you better be ready!
So yesterday Marty rides through some sucky SoCal weather up to my place in the high desert where the winds are in the 50 mph range and took me for a ride. Wow! It was soooooooo nice to be back in the seat! Donna and I only did about 40 miles with Marty, but it was just what we needed. No problems with the area cut, just some wobbly moves from being off for so long.
Marty and I carded and talked with two CVO owners, both 2007s, blue and a black/orange (like Marty used to have) so if we're lucky we might see them join in.
Bottom line! Thank you Marty for getting me back in the saddle. I needed that. Dave
