Stock Navigation on SEUC 2010
« on: April 12, 2010, 09:22:54 AM »

I have around 7000 miles on my 2010 SEUC and the navigation has gone out twice.   :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(

The first was prior to delivery and now as I drive the compass will constantly rotate (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NE). When I try to use the navigation I am never on a road and even though I am within 5 miles of the destination the unit will tell me I have several hundred miles to go.

 >:( :( :o

Primary reason why most of us spent the extra money and have Garmin Zumo's on the bikes.

The Garmin's are much better and the new 660 (or 665 if you want NexRad weather) are very easy to see.

Plus, the good old reliable Zumo 550 which has been around for 3 plus years.

The you can buy the CellSet system from Cycle Gadget's and truly integrate the Garmin and the entir HD system with phines etc.

All it takes is money.

I agree, the in radio GPS sucks bad. It's worth the extra $$$ to go with a dedicated GPS unit, easier to use, you can program maps into some liek the Zumo 550 and 660, easier to read and see where you should go

I would like to thank all the people that did not assist with this problem. I know that spending more money to purchase the 660 is a better navigation and didn't need to be told that when I asked for assistance. What people could have done was to direct me to where I could obtain the assistance, or provided feedback as that is what this forum is about.

The stealership is still attempting to fix the navigation with no success.

If anyone has advice I am still in need of help.

It is most likely that the GPS feels intimidated by you!!! :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Assuming it is under warranty, the dealership should call HD customer service and ask for assistance in fixing it permanently.  Only experience I have had with the HD GPS was a wiring harness issue that kept destroying the HD GPS.

Two failures is two too many.

After it's fixed then get a Garmin.

I have no problem with getting a garmin, but the dealership needs to fix the unit I already paid for with the CVO.

Been a long day and very frustrated at other problems and employees that fail to perform.

:rifle: Guess I ended up venting here with this problem instead of eliminating employees  :rifle:

LOL  :cherry:

thanks for any assistance

The way I look at it is this, they are simply asking too much of the radio. It doesn't have the power to be everything so the last thing that gets loaded onto them(the GPS programs ) will get jumbled to fit in the memory spaces and that leads to poor performance. If they replace your head unit, I wouldn't even try to load the GPS crap on it. It will likely just disappoint you again

Perhaps if they cannot fix it they could refund your money? Then you could have the freedom find another solution?
