« on: May 03, 2010, 04:29:55 PM »

I am looking to do some Cam work using Zippers or Woods, so far I have added Rineheart Crossbacks and a pro super tuner results 94 horsepower 116 torque, an suggestions on Cams would be helpful

I'm running a Woods 8 cam in my Springer. I debated on running a woods 400 or 408 but decided to just do a mild build on this bike. I did have the heads set up for hi lift in case I ever decided to run a 400 or 408.

just comes down to how much you are willing to spend. If you are talking about a cam only(no head work) then a woods tw7 is good but it can go anywhere up from there. Just depends on your wallet.

Running the same exhaust with Woods 408-G cam.  Running that cam required head work/parts and tb.  Still having trouble with my thundermax but hopefully that will be taken care after a visit to Zipper's next week....this has been going on for a year!!!!  Would recommend the HPI tb.  Those guys are great to work with.  Should have new numbers but last dyno had 112 hp and 120 tq.  The 408 put the torque on early and it stays on.

I had zippers install redline 575 cam and thundermax. I have vh 2+2 exhaust. The mid to upper rpms in higher gears really pull hard. Low rpm's not much change. Really happy with 6th gear passing

I'm Confused by the 6th gear passing " Really happy", after stating "low rpm's not much change. Or are you passing above 85 mph?
