XM radio?
« on: May 11, 2010, 05:44:33 PM »

Our bikes come with this right? i have a 2010 but have gone all through the setting in the radio and in the hand control but have not seen anything for the sat radio. I know i should read the owners manual but i just figured i would ask here. Stopped at the local HD dealer and the sales guys had no clue but they did say i should have it. There should be some sort of trial period for this. On my car i got 3 months free why would this be any different?
Thanks guys.

My bike didn't come with XM but my GPS did. :2vrolijk_21:

I believe it's an (expensive) add-on option for the SESG HK radio unit.  :huepfenjump3:

OK, seriously. No, our SESG's do not come with XM standard. You can add XM to the HD radio. However, if you are considering adding a GPS, the new Garmin Zumo 665 is XM capable. If you go that route, then you can load your own tunes onto the accessory microSD card, or listen to XM and have the GPS unit interrupt the music to give directions. Harley makes a very nice GPS mount for your fairing. The audio out of the GPS goes into the aux audio input on your radio (right up front) and works flawlessly.

You will find many opinions on GPS mounts here, but for my 2 cents, the HD unit is the cleanest and best way to go. I will send you a photo of that if you wish, just send me an email to michael@hostworks.net.

Sorry to disappoint, but your salesman is woefully uninformed.

It comes on the SEUC. I bet there are a bunch of guys with XM on their SEUC that don't  use it. Anyone know if the module can be swapped to another bike ?  Might be some deals, swaps to be made .. I would have been glad to make someone a deal on the one that came on my 07 SEUC.
Just thinking.

It also does not come with:  Heated grips: GPS: Tour Pack Locks: Tour Pack Liners : Passenger Floor Boards:Drivers Foot Pegs:Garage Door Opener.... I guess that's why is't a SG and not a UC, and why I keep spending $$$ :pepper:

The cost for everything is 700.00. That is with 20% off. I installed it on my scotr and works very well....

I also installed the tweeter bar and it interferes with the XM antenna where it is mounted so i moved it to the inner left tip of the batwing. Issues when riding under tree canopy, works very well everywhere else.

Have all the stations and volume at fingertips.
