103 + SE204 + 1.725:1 rockers = 1 happy biker
« on: May 21, 2010, 11:13:58 PM »

Got my bike put back together today.  I'd been waiting for a couple of days with no other committments to tear into a cam change.  This week, the planets came into alignment.

After reading cam specs until I was crosseyed, and emailing a couple of folks whose opinion I trust, finally quit worrying about it, and went with 204's in conjunction with se high lift rockers.   This was on a 07 RK police with the 103, PCV-autotune, SE air cleaner, and SE 98b slip ons.   I suppose there was other cams that might eke out the last couple of hp and ft/lbs, but for what this was, I'm ecstatic.  The bike pulls hard right off idle, and stays in it longer than the 255's typically do.  I'll mess around with the autotune this summer, and sometime soon, get it on a dyno to get an idea of what kind of numbers it's making.   I'm running the timing straight up, it doesn't feel like I'm getting any predetonation, but that's something I was a little worried about.

Great sounding cams at idle, and underway as well.
