I just got all my parts in this morn!!!  Hate to be selfish, but I'm really glad my parts were late and you guys (Eric & Spike) were early!!!  Saves me havin to pull the fairing off AGAIN!  Hopefully the next project I can be the guinea pig and save you guys a bunch of time and trials.  Thanks again you two for the great tips and pics.  I ordered the Touratec key lock mount that hopefully will fit and save a future get off (of the Zumo that is)  I'll shoot ya a pic when it's done.
Ride Safe,
Mike

Looks great. Hopefully Garmin does not come out with a "770" next year that everyone will want, that will not fit into those new holes in the fairing.

the newer fairing mount is based on the standard 4 hole AMPS pattern in theory it can be use on almost any GPS

That would be about par for the course!

Got the Touratec mount today and I must say I'm underwhelmed!  Seems pretty flimsy...expected something more substantial in the locking mechanism for that kinda money.  Gonna try and get the install done Sunday, maybe after it's mounted things will firm up..if not she's goin back.

Even if those things are solid, I just wonder if the jerk will just grab the whole thing and rip it off the dash, making it all a much bigger loss. When you add in the thing is butt ugly, I'm thinking I'll just stick with removing the Zumo, and not tempting fate. I dunno?

My main reason for gettin it was stories of the Zumo flyin down the road after it popped outta the mount and to that end it may work well  Actually when the Zumo is in and the top is closed ya can't really see it much except side view, the thing has rubber bushings that I think will help in the vibration dept, but the jury is still out.

I'd love to see the set up in person. I've hit some nasty bumps with my Garmin mount with no issues, but I have heard of a very few folks losing them. I just wondered if they don't mount them all the way??  For that issue, maybe I'll look at adding a tether of some sort.  That's all down the road.

Mounted my 550 on the dash of my 010 CVO yesterday, using the parts list supplied.  Fit perfectly, and all is working great.  Will be out for the first ride today, but all looks and feels right.  Thanks.

Well, one week later and I have everything but the cradle mount. My J&M goodies, Legend air pressure gauge, and led gauge lights should all be here tomorrow or Friday. With any luck, the mount will arrive by the end of the week and we'll git'er done!  Come on moco, get that mount on the truck already!
